Week 12

This week was a huge disappointment for my fantasy and I blame it all on my team's QB Troy Smith.  Personally, I think we should get Alex Smith back in there because he is much better.  I watched in anticipation on Sunday night as the Chargers played the Colts because my opponent had Phillip Rivers as his QB.  Rivers is a phenomenal QB and I was worried about losing because of him.  Luckily, he didn't throw a single TD even though the team beat the Colts by a large margin.  This left me two players on the 49ers (who played Monday) to get 9 points.  They were Vernon Davis and Josh Morgan, both starters and good players.  I LOST!  They barely got targeted, T. Smith only threw for just over 120 yards.  The game was won by running for over 260 yards.  Not to mention the team they played was the Cardinals who are struggling pretty badly anyways.  We gotta improve by next week.  Also, I play my division leader next week.  Here's hoping!

Week 11

Well this was another good week for both my fantasy team and my actual team (although I'm a week late posting about it haha).  I squeaked out a win against my opponent with less than 9 points ahead of him.  Vernon Davis, my tight end, only got 3 yards because the QB doesn't know how to target his best weapons.  The 49ers ended up getting shut out this week at home for the first time since the 70's.  Needless to say, this was a huge disappointment.  The new QB filling in (and likely to start for a while) just doesn't seem like he's up to snuff.  Only time will tell, but I still hope for Alex Smith to come back in personally.

Week 10

Another good week for me.  I beat a team with most of my good players being on bye.  My receivers were weak to begin with, starting Anthony Armstrong from the Redskins (who got stomped by the Eagles), Brandon Tate from the Patriots, and Mike Williams from Tampa Bay (my only starter all season).  The person I played against had 3 people left to play on the Monday night game, all on the Eagles team (their kicker, defense, and TE Celek).  So when they were doing so well against the Redskins, I thought my fate was sealed.  I won though!  The 49ers this week did a great job as well.  The third string QB standing in for Alex Smith, named Troy Smith, threw for over 350 yards and a TD.  He may become the starter for the team if he keeps performing at this level.  We beat a division rival in the Rams with that victory.  This moves us up from last place in the division to third because of divisional ranking.  The Seahawks, currently leading the division, are only 2 games ahead at the moment.  Here's hoping!

Week 9

So this was actually a great week in fantasy for me.  My team won with an outstanding comeback of being down 20 points.  I had few of my actual good starters in due to byes or injuries and came back to win by 8 points.  In addition, all other 3 teams in my division lost their game, moving me up one whole step on the ladder to tie for second with 2 other people at 4-5.  The division leader (who is also the league leader) is now 7-2.  Chances of catching him are slim, but I am certainly trying.   The 49ers I didnt have to worry about this week either because they are on bye (which only hurts me with TE Vernon Davis on my team).  Here's looking forward to another great week next week!

Week 8

So, I had my top 3 wide receivers out for the week, Steve Smith with a bye week and Malcolm Floyd and Louis Murphy out with injuries.  This resulted in me picking up Josh Morgan for Carnell Williams.  I also picked up a new kicker for Matt Bryant, Nick Folk, because Bryant is on bye.  The 3 wide receivers I had did a horrible job, resulting in me getting the lowest amount of points yet this season.  I didn't even get beat badly.  I would have done great if my receivers had been there :(.  On the other hand, the 49ers had their 3rd string QB, Troy Smith, start.  After an unproductive first half for him, he finally found a rhythm and the 49ers came out beating the Broncos in England.  That brings there record up to 2-6, instead of 0-5 or 1-6, as it was a little earlier in the season.

Week 7

Week 7 was a nail-biter for fantasy.  I finally squeaked out a win by less than 3 points.  I didn't think it would happen, but it did.  Going into the Monday night game, Giants vs Dallas, I was down almost 20 points with just Brandon Jacobs and Steve Smith left to play. My opponent still had Felix Jones to play.  Jones got shut down and Jacobs and Smith both had good games, giving me the win.  Unfortunately, the 49ers' quarterback got injured at the start of the second half of the game against the Panthers, taking him out for the rest of the game.  The backup QB who stepped in did a horrible job and the win-less Panthers got their first win of the season vs us.  SO frustrating.

Week 6

This was a week in which I really wanted to win the match-up for my fantasy team because I was matched up against my best friend.  Unfortunately, my receivers didn't agree with this and all three of them did terribly (less than five points total amongst the three.  It gets so frustrating.  On the other hand, the 49ers actually won their first game!  I'm not getting my hopes up yet or getting excited yet because it was the first win of the season, they are 1-5, the team they beat was the Raiders, one of the worst in the league, and it was a sloppy win.  But, I had a collective sigh of relief that at least they won.  I have my doubts for the staffing of the team, but I will save that for next week and see how they do against the Panthers this upcoming week.

In my opinion though, they should go to the spread and stop trying to power run the ball because it obviously ISN'T working.
